Hire Terms

These terms outline how Fenstride Cycle Hire provides its bicycle hire services. By booking a bike with us, you agree to the following conditions designed to ensure safe and fair use for all customers.

1. Booking and Payment

Bookings can be made online or in person. Payment is due before collection. We accept major debit and credit cards. Confirmation is issued by email once the booking is processed. Prices are listed in GBP and include basic accessories such as lights and a coded lock.

2. Identification

A valid photo ID (passport, driving licence, or student card) must be shown when collecting a bike. Copies are not retained; verification is visual only.

3. Duration of Hire

Day hire covers up to 24 hours from the time stated on your booking. Weekly hires run for seven consecutive days. Late returns may incur additional daily rates. Please notify us if you expect a delay.

4. Rider Responsibility

Riders must follow UK road laws, use lights after dark, and secure bikes with the provided lock when unattended. Bikes are hired for personal transport only — not for racing, courier work, or sub-hire. The rider is responsible for the bicycle during the hire period.

5. Damage or Loss

Reasonable wear is expected. Significant damage, theft, or loss must be reported immediately. We assess replacement costs fairly based on repair estimates. Insurance cover is optional and can be discussed at booking.

6. Mechanical Issues

In the event of a puncture or minor fault, we provide guidance by phone. Where practical, we may offer a replacement bicycle or refund unused days. Our aim is to minimise disruption without unnecessary formality.

7. Safety Equipment

Helmets are available upon request and subject to stock. Riders are encouraged to wear suitable clothing and remain aware of local traffic conditions.

8. Privacy and Data

All personal data shared during the booking process is handled in line with our Data & Cookies Notes and UK GDPR. We retain minimal records required for hire administration.

9. Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled at least 24 hours before the hire start receive a full refund. Later cancellations or no-shows may be charged the first day’s rate. Refunds are processed promptly to the original payment method.

10. Liability

Fenstride Cycle Hire is not liable for loss, injury, or damage arising from misuse of the bicycle or failure to observe traffic laws. Our responsibility is limited to the cost of hire and accessories.

11. Complaints and Feedback

We welcome constructive feedback. Any complaints will be reviewed within five working days. Contact us via [email protected] with your booking details.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be handled by courts within that jurisdiction.
